Heel Numbness

Heel numbness can be a concerning symptom, as it may indicate underlying nerve compression or neuropathy. At Carrollton Foot Center, we take a thorough approach to evaluating and treating this condition.

Our first step in the evaluation process is to conduct a physical examination and possibly order radiographic imaging to rule out any bone or joint abnormalities that may be contributing to the numbness. We will also assess the patient’s medical history and any other factors that may be contributing to their symptoms.

Conservative treatment options for heel numbness may include injection therapy or oral medications to alleviate any inflammation or pressure on the nerves. Additionally, an EMG/NCV test may be ordered to help identify the cause of the numbness and pinpoint any nerve damage.

If conservative treatment options do not provide relief, surgical intervention may be considered. Nerve decompression surgery can help alleviate the pressure on the affected nerve, restoring sensation and function to the affected area.

At Carrollton Foot Center, our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to our patients with heel numbness. We work closely with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and symptoms. If you are experiencing heel numbness, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Khavari to discuss your options for evaluation and treatment.
